According to Joe Doll, general counsel of NFT marketplace Magic Eden, David Sacks, recently dubbed the “AI and crypto czar,” has a narrow two-year window to make a crypto-friendly move before the 2026 U.S. midterm elections to adopt policies and implement them.
Speaking to Cointelegraph, Doll expressed concerns about a possible government shutdown. He stressed that the narrow Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, which currently holds 219 seats, could flip in the next election cycle and lead to divided government. “The majority in the House is a really narrow margin, and it probably changes because it almost always changes,” Doll explained. “So we have 24 months to get something important done.”
